About this tool
Text Repeater
Text Repeater repeats a string a set number of times with a separator of your choosing.
How to use it
- Enter the text to repeat.
- Set the number of repetitions and the separator.
- Copy the result.
The separator is the useful part
Repetition alone is trivial. The separator is what makes the output usable, because it decides whether you get one long string, a list of lines, or a comma-separated series ready to paste into code.
Choosing a newline gives you rows. Choosing a comma gives you an array body. Choosing an empty separator gives you a solid block, which is what you want for building a fixed-width rule or padding test input.
Worked example
How the separator changes what you get:
- Newline separatorone item per line, a list
- Comma separatora series ready for code
- Empty separatorone solid block
Result: The separator decides whether the output is rows, an array body, or a fixed-width rule.
When it helps
- Generating test data of a specific length or row count.
- Building a repeated pattern for a template or a placeholder.
- Creating a separator line of a set width.
- Producing repeated markup rows to paste into a document.
Common mistakes
- Generating an enormous repetition and pasting it somewhere that cannot handle it. Browsers and editors both struggle past a few megabytes.
- Forgetting that a trailing separator is usually left on the end and may need removing.
